Where can I read Marvel comics online free?

July 32009

So, I love marvel comicomic> and do buy quite a bit. But finances don’t allow me to keep up. Plus I missed a lot of Planet Hulk and the House of M (very pivitol comic seasons). So just being able to read those would be great but anything else would be awesome as well. Do you know where I can do that online for free?

I’m unsure as to any way other than to download Utorrent. and search up comics on Torrentscan.com download, and read them on something like adobe reader.

Comics that have value.?

July 32009

How do you know if a comic book is valueable? What do you look for? How can I find them for cheap?? I have a very small collection of comic books, and would like to get more involved with comics, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

comicspriceguide.com is a good website to find the values of comics for free cuz you don’t have to sign up to search through their database and they usually have very similar prices to the Official Overstreet Price Guide values. Values of comics depend on supply and demand just like anything else. Most comics from the early 80’s to now are not worth much with some exceptions. I’ve found that certain Spider-Man comics seem to be the more expensive ones on Ebay and what not cuz they have a greater demand than most other titles especially right now because of the nostalgia from teh movie, but that should die down within the year. If you’re thinking about buying comics to resell, I wouldn’t waste the time or money. I recently talked to a guy that I had purchased some comics from and he said it best when he said that if you can make 10 cents on the dollar selling comics, then you’re doing pretty good.

Pinoy superhero fiction fans: What is your favorite Pinoy superhero incarnation?

July 32009

You can send in as many superheroes as you like. The "golden age" represents the incarnations of Filipino (Philippines) superheroes seen on comic books and films during the 1950s and 1960s, the "silver age" refers to the superheroes seen on 1970s-1990s films starring them, and the modern age refers to the incarnations of superheroes seen on TV and films in the late 1990s-2000s. Like Captain Barbell, who has different incarnations for the comic books, the two films starring him (released in 1986 and 2003), and the 2006 TV series also starring him.

i dont know if he’s really a superhero (the flying with capes and masks etc) but i love pedro penduko, he’s the reason why many still remember our national folktales

Does anyone have these comic books for sale?

What is the best comic book novel to read with my 10 yr old son?

I want to get a comic book novel (not just a comic book, but a larger one like Phoenix saga, The Killing Joke) to read with my 10 yr old son. It’s been a while since I read my last one, and I’m wondering what graphic novel would be both interesting and appropriate for my son and I to read together. I just order Watchmen, so anything else. Thanks in advance.

hmm…Watchmen might not be as appropriate as you may think, but that’s for you to judge. I personally like Kingdom Come or if you guys are into British humor, Superman: True Brit. There’s also The Dark Knight Returns if you guys are into darker stories.

What books would you suggest for building a high school library?

My old high school, which my sister currently attends, is building up its library. The school is only four years old, and the library doesn’t have very many books. What books would you consider to be "essential" to a high school library, or any library in general? Or how would you recommend the school go about building up the library?

All suggestions are welcome, thank you.

Note: Twilight is already in the library, as are the Harry Potter and Eragon series.

Here are links to the two largest book distributors in the U.S., both of whom have school library supply programs:

Below is an interesting site where you can purchase used books very inexpensively, often cheaper than wholesale new, and the shipping is really low too. On top of that it serves a charitable cause. Your school may or may not find it useful. I just wanted to throw it out there because I recently found it and thought it was cool.

Here are a variety of decent lists, ranging from teen reads, to AP suggestions, to just general great books lists. If nothing else they may serve as a reminder of all that is out there.
