I’ve tried to relist my comics now that my auction is over, but it only gives you the option of relisting as an auction and I’m wondering how to relist it as Buy It Now. Thanks.

What light-hearted, fun superhero comics are worth reading?

October 312009

I’ve been looking for a good comic-book series to read lately, and one of the more recent ones I’ve come across is Invincible, which I found really enjoyable and stayed up for five nights in a row reading all the issues.

The thing I liked about it was that it was light-hearted and laid-back, not unlike the more political and gritty tone to comics these days (not to say the Ultimates wasn’t good). What was better was the fact that it was almost Silver-Age in style, with the most randomest of things happening every issue. (Like a Martian invasion here, an Atlantis marriage there, and psycho zombies all at once)

If any of you know of a good superhero comic that’s interesting, fun, and intelligent and worth your time, feel free to leave an answer.

Ooh, I would highly recommend "Madman" by Mike Allred. It’s got everything you’re looking for in spades! Smart and super-witty writing, awesome pop-artwork, really great characters, tons of laughs…with some deep philosophical undertones, and randomness to boot! Kinda hard to explain, but it’s pop-culture trappings with Silver-Age inspiration. I think you’ll have a blast reading it.

What is the safest way to scan comic book pages?

I’m trying to scan some comic pages without creasing/damaging the spine. Any suggestions?

Honestly, to get a halfway decent scan, you pretty much have to take the comic apart completely. This is why many people buy two copies of things.

Do Marvel comics always increase in value?

October 292009

If I buy a Marvel comic that has a value of $3, will it increase in value by much in, say, 10-20 years time?

LOL

Dream on. Comics now are so mass produced that it may go up a little in the next year or two (up to 5.00 or so), then it will drop back down and go below.

Mutant

Lots of experience and I know comic dealers (see link below)

How much are the first 5 Daredevil: Man Without Fear comic books and the first 4 The Punishers worth?

I have the first 5 issues of Daredevil: The Man Without Fear and the first 4 issues of The Punisher coprighted 1985. What are the values of these comic books, or even the value if the whole collection?

The Daredevil books are not worth much, that series was expected to be a big seller so they printed many of them.

That Punisher mini-series though, can go for quite a bit, if they’re in good shape.

will the marvel comic book creators and artist still continue to create their graphic comics after marvel ?

October 272009

will the creators and artist at marvel comics continue to create the more graphic comics since disney has brought marvel ?

There have been many interviews with Joe Quesada, editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, stating that Disney will only help with getting the Marvel brand and characters to as many people worldwide as they can, Disney will not interfere with the actual writing of the comics and they will not be censored or "Disney-fied" in any way.

What Batman comic should I start reading at?

October 272009

Posted in comic | 6 Comments »

I’m not a very avid comic reader, so I’m going to ask you guys a VERY broad question…. I’ve recently became interested in the DC comic book character Batman, via his latest video game (Arkham Asylum). And I wanted to know where should I start reading Batman comics that tie in with the MAIN DC storyline leading to his death. So, what comic should I start reading?

Well Final Crisis if you want to read his death …. but that book was terrible.

You should get Battle for the Cowl and then Batman & Robin. XD

Who’s the leader of the Marvel Comics superheroes?

October 242009

We all know Superman is the leader of the DC Comics superheroes with Batman (I think) being second in command. So, for Marvel, I’m guessing it’s either Captain America (since he kinda is marvel’s version of superman) or Ironman.

I don’t know. Who is it?

I know I’m gonna sound like a really big dork here but screw it. There really isn’t a "leader" persay in either Marvel or DC comics. Each universe has flagship characters that help identify their perspecive universe. You are correct that Superman and Batman are the flagship characters for the DC universe. I would venture to say that Spiderman and Captain America are the flagship characters for Marvel.
