How do I find the value of my comics?

September 302009

I used to collect comics over a decade ago, and I’m not sure which ones are still valuable and which are not, nor how much the valuable ones are worth. If possible, I’d like a source that offers comic prices for free, but if that is not available, I’m willing to pay (preferably as little as possible). Does anyone know where I can find a reliable price guide?

Compare them to the prices listed at Mile High comics. They list different prices for different quality gradients of the same comics too.

I have a box full of comics (20 years old) How do I find out if their first print giving it some kind of value

September 282009

Marvel Secret Wars 1 & 2,DC Crisis of Infinite Earths and so on. They are all limited series comics. Ranging from 4 pcs to 12. Also some loose pcs with a original price fo 35 cents. I know that in the early 80’s so much stuff was printed they might be worthless, But you never know what is sitting in its little plastic baggy

http://comicspriceguide.com is a good site to look a the values of comics

Well Secret Wars 1 the issues range between 3 and 6 dollars, with #8 being worth 28 dollars.
The rest you can look up for yourself

Where can I find the value of trading cards?

September 262009

I have several trdaing cards from differnt genres, basketball, comics book cards, etc…. Where can I go to find out how much they are worth?

Get hold of sports cards magazines like Tuff Stuff(also include collectible values) or Beckett Basketball,Baseball, etc. If you want an online resource, then I’m afraid you have to subscribe. You can try to list some sports cards here with player names, card series and card numbers, and maybe you can get some favorable answers.

I have a newspaper from 1942 featuring a Bambi comic from Disney. Where can I find out its value?

September 242009

It’s in pretty good shape and contains all the pages that accompany that section of the newspaper.

not worth the paper it printed on.

Try going to a disney fan forum and asking.

Value of 9/11 comic book dedicated to heroes?

September 232009

I bought several comic books with drawings by comic book artists after 9/11. I was just wondering what the value was now. The book had some very beautiful drawings, some brought tears to the eyes and was dedicated to the heroes of 9/11.

They are worth about what you paid for them. They printed a lot. New comics really don’t have a lot of value. They aren’t great for investing, only the older comics are worth something, 70s and older.

Where is the best place online to find out the value of my comic books?

September 212009

I have a collection that I can see myself parting ways with and want a trusted place to find accurate value because I realize that I have several dozen great and valuable comics.

The best place to find out how much your comics are really worth is eBay. Remember that the comics are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. So even though there’s the Overstreet guide, considered the ‘bible’ for the comic collector, and people buying and selling comics refer to this book when deciding how much to pay for a comic or how much to try and sell it for, the reality is that the prices of old comics are determined by supply and demand just like any other commodity.

So, if I were you, I’d make a list of what you’ve got, make a rough estimate of the condition of each of the comics that you think are more valuable, and then surf eBay for a while to get the feel of how much the comics actually sell for at end of auction.

If you have comics from the "Silver Age’ or "Golden Age’, you should be able to sell them quite easily and get a reasonable price, although I would say that except for the rarest comics or those in top condition even from these time periods, specimens in somewhat beat up shape will not get you high bucks - I’d say that if you got hold of an up to date Overstreet and accurately graded your comics, you might get maybe 60 or 70% of the guide value except for the better condition and rarer comics as mentioned above - the comic market has been somewhat depressed for a while now.

Remember, look at what people are bidding, not just at what the sellers are trying to sell for.

I found this on my computer and thought I’d share it for pure comic value.

It’s slightly cruel but really funny.

Is there any value to old x-men comics…1980’s, metalic…etc.?

September 92009

It takes so long trying to figure out e-bay. we have about 300+

Well, they are woth something. Perhaps some would consider them of sentimental value. Others would consider them as priceless. Most would tell you that if it’s in good condition & is signed by the artist, it can fetch a high price. Take a look at Nicolas Cage. His Superman comics reached over $100,000 at the auction. It’s an old Superman comic & is worth quite a lot. If you have comics from long ago, especially those that were drawn by today’s famous creators like Todd Macfarlane & Jim Lee, if they’re in mint condition, then they’re worth a fortune. Sell them to the highest bidder. Keep it for yourself. Give it your kid as an inheritance. Either way, they’e indeed worth something.
