What should I mail my fiance for Christmas?

December 82009

My fiance will be in New York for Christmas and I’m going to mail him a box of stuff. He loves banana bread, so I’ll send him that. I also found a comic book store on google that is near his hotel and ordered a gift card for him. I need some more ideas of cute, practical things that will ship well. He likes music, video games, comic books, and he is a professional artist. Any ideas?

Find a really pretty and unique picture frame and put your face on it….your avatar pic would be great!! Wrap it well in bubble wrap.

* You have a beautiful face.

Buy single issues of comics online?

December 12009

I remember years ago that there were some MAIL ORDER comic companys out there. You could by Single Issues from DC, Marvel and alot of other companies. Are there any companies like this but online?

My first suggestion would be to SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL COMIC SHOP!

Of course, if that’s not viable for once reason or another, there are solutions. I’ve looked some shops before and here’s where I would go.

mycomicshop.com –This is really great if you’re looking for a specific comic, old or new. They have a ginormous selection and I would say that their prices are on the low side. Very reasonable.

If you’re looking for current comics, I’ve come across some sites that appear reasonable, but have never dealt with them personally:

http://g-mart.com
http://www.mailordercomics.com/
http://www.comicsnow.com/

I’d suggest just googling "comic book subscriptions" to find the best deals. Of course, you can subscribe directly through most comic book publishers, but if they’re like DC they delay when you receive the book from when it was originally published.

*Here’s another thing that might help that doesn’t directly answer your question:

Another option is, if you don’t care about prospective value (which I wouldn’t recommend caring about,) is to collect comics once they’ve been printed in trade paper backs (which could also be purchased online.) These tend to be cheaper and give you the full story all at once with no advertisements.

Atmosphere- Always coming back to you (without beat)

September 92009

lyrics

“Always Coming Back Home To You”

He held the register open while he counted her change
I was next in line which meant I was invisible
From where I stood I could see that the till was full
He didn’t look the type to play superhero
So I stepped forth and paid for my cigarettes
Crept out the stores front door to chase a little breath
Bangles in my head, shake the song off
Another manic Monday night, its gonna be a long walk

A car pulled up, a fixed up cutlass
A woman and a child climbed out and left it running
They went inside of the deli, placed an order
With the extra dollar fifty bottled water cause the daughters picky
When they came out mommy gave me a glance
That said man can love an angel but he’s got to take the chance
Already knew the deal, I lit one up and walk
So they got back in the Oldsmobile, belted up, and took off

Thug love on the corner by the walgreens
Lookin at me like I’m just another square saltine
As I get closer I notice that they showing each other sketches
Out of their notebooks, reminded me of my old roots

I walk pass with a nod and a reminisce
Swear to god hip hop and comic books was my genesis
Respect the life and the fashions of the children
It’s the only culture I’ve got, exactly what we’ve been building

All of a sudden I’m in front of some man
No he’s a youngin but he’s got a gun in his hand
He looks fifteen, he looks frantic, no he looks afraid
Immediately apprehensive til I heard him say
“Do you want this It’s not mine I promise
I found it on my block in between a couple garages
Didn’t wanna leave it for a child to stumble over
I don’t even know how to hold it.”

It was a thirty eight, the poor man’s machete
Held it in my hand, thinking man it’s heavier then expected,
Wedged it behind my belt buckle
Knowing that its evil, even thought that I could smell trouble
The extra strength felt weak,
But over there on the corner saw what I needed and proceeded to cross the
Street
Put the heat in the mail box to loose it
Figured that the post office knows whats best to do with it

Mosey down the road thinkin’ bout the old
I use to roam this zone with two feet of snow
Right here, this use to be a record shop
I’ve gotten love, I’ve gotten drunk, I’ve gotten beat up in that parking lot
I’ve had my lake street pride for three decades
These alleyways, and these streetlights have seen my best days
Before I was a germ learning how to misbehave,
All the way to the grave, south side is my resting place

Took a right on Lyndale I’m getting near
But then the road became empty and the people disappeared
The clouds ran away, opened up the sky
And one by one I watched every constellation die
And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard
Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star
I should’ve known, walked all the way home
To find that she wasn’t here, I’m still all alone

No matter where I am, no matter what I do
I’m always coming back home to you
They can leave me for dead they can take away my true
I’m always coming back home to you
Through the lies and the sins that ride the wind that blew
I’m always coming back home to you
As sure as the life in the garden that you grew
I’m always coming back home to you
No matter where I am, no matter what I do
I’m always coming back home to you
If only I had known what you already knew
I’m always coming back home to you
From the heaven I’ve had to the I been through
I’m always coming back home to you
I’m always coming back home to you

Barbi Twins | Barbi Twins photos and Barbi Twins videos

September 62009

Barbi Twins uncensored photos and videos on http://rude99.com. Shane Barbi and Sia Barbi, also known as The Barbi Twins, are identical twins and pin-up models. Shane and Sia began modelling at the age of seven when they posed for a layout in the Sears mail-order catalog. Their adult career has spanned fashion, softcore, and pin-up modeling. After the success of their 1993 calendar released by Topps, Shane and Sia published a premium-rate telephone number called the Barbi Hotline. In addition to the calendar, Topps also published two comic books and a promotional trading card depicting Shane and Sia. Though the pair’s appearance has led to suggestions of plastic surgery enhancement—the British newspaper the Evening Standard described them as “bizarre distortions of the classical female form with their identical tiny waists, long athletic legs and 38D chests”—[2]the Barbis have maintained that they have never undergone any surgical refinements.[3][dead link]

Shane and Sia posed together in two top-selling issues of Playboy, and also in several internationally-distributed calendars. Not long after their Playboy days, they made a foray into voice acting, with several cameo appearances as brunette scientists in the American animated series Eek! The Cat. They also modeled for the fashioned designers Thierry Mugler and John Galliano.

As adults, the twins developed bulimia, which they have since overcome. Their book, Dying To Be Healthy: A Breakthrough Diet, Nutrition and Self Help Guide (1999), tells the story of their struggles with eating disorders. A portion of the book’s profits benefit organizations that strive to combat eating disorders. In the 2000s, Shane and Sia lectured and spoke on television, radio, and online about eating disorders and their careers. In early 2001, they appeared on the CBS television program 48 Hours in a piece about eating disorders, entitled “Slim Chance”. After the program aired, CBS hosted a moderated online chat session in which the twins responded to questions from the public.

Comic Collection Update 9-2-09

September 32009

A few days ago I received a package from Midtown Comics (midtowncomics.com) . I had ordered a few classic batman comics and a few recent batman comics from 2004-2005. Sorry about the video quality. I HIGHLY suggest ordering your comics online now instead of going to a comic shop. You save time and you have a lot more variety. I just ordered a few more comics from mycomicshop.com and I will make a video when I get them in a few days.
