September 122009

Had a few request to show of part of my Captain America Comics. I’m starting the video with Cap #100 - #115, the first Silver Age books of the self-named title, and also showing Avengers #4 his first SA appearance…or is it ? Strange Tales 14 predates Avengers 4 by a few months and…it features Captain America

What are the funniest "Silver Age" Batman comics?

September 52009

Alright…& Wonder Woman….
It doesn’t count if you went to Superdickery & judged by the covers. If you just looked at the cover of Batman 66, you wouldn’t have guessed it was full of boner jokes.

So what issues hold the most hilarious Batman stories ever?
Oh wait, you can include Golden Age issues too. I’ll even take the funniest old Superman/World’s Best/Detective Comics etc issues as well.

PRO-FAN Silver-Age Comic Trivia Contest! PART FOUR!

September 32009

Part FOUR!

This is the PRO-FAN SILVER-AGE TRIVIA CONTEST at WizardWorld Chicago in 2006. The panel was hosted by COMICS BUYER’S GUIDE columnist, Craig Shutt (Mr. Silver-Age). The representative for the comics pros was Mark Waid, who answered questions via cell-phone, as he couldn’t make it to Chicago. A panel of comics fans competed against Waid on comics trivia from the Silver-Age of comic books.

This is part four of six. Nearly the entire contest was filmed by me, but my camera ran out of juice before the final outcome. SPOILER! Mark Waid won. But, see if you get the answers correct, yourself.

I had a lot of requests about my Silver Age Avengers comics, so here are issues #1 - #10. I’m also showing #503 which is the last issue of the series and the final issue in my collection of just over 500 consecutive issues. Great series to read and enjoy.

I have two questions concerning silver age comic books?

August 222009

My first question is about either a Batman or Detective comic book where one of Batman’s descendants time-travels to see Batman in action. I am trying to find the issue number. Also, there was a comic book with three mystery/science fiction stories–one dealt with a crooked builder who makes it to the top of the world; another story is about an alien visiting a rooming house where tenants want more space, and the third story is about a concentration camp commandant getting his reward (all in the same issue) There was a gypsy fortune-teller who narrated the action. Please help me find the title of this comic book.

"comic book where one of Batman’s descendants time-travels to see Batman in action. I am trying to find the issue number."

In Detective Comics #216 (1955) "The Batman of Tomorrow!" one of Batman’s descendants time-travels to help Batman in action.
