How to comic book artists colour and edit their drawings? Do they use a program on a Computer?

If so, what is it called? (by the way i wanted to edit my drawing and comics to make them look better that just normal sketches, i want them to look like actual comic pictures/drawings) anyone who how the "pro’s" do it?

Some artists do use a computer program (I saw one in use at a manga exhibition), but a lot just use pen and ink
