*Please watch in high quality in order to read the subtitles*
This is a call for submissions for an online edited collection of essays about individuals’ relationships with videogame characters. These should all be from your personal experience. Please no blanket statements or wild speculation. Topics for essays might include game characters that cross mediums and appear in things like American comics and cartoons or Japanese anime and manga; games that feature characters from outside the gaming world, sexual desire for characters; identification with characters; videogame characters and race, class, or gender; or many other potential others. Essays need not be a specific length or take a specific form. I will accept (fan)fiction, (fan)art, photo essays, vids or other non-traditional mediums. Your writing also need not be overly academic. Some people use Theory-with-a-capital-T to process their everyday experiencesand some do not. I am interested in a range of ideas. If you do draw on others work, please cite it appropriately. For more information, see http://vgcidp.wetpaint.com . To submit, please e-mail your essay to vgcidp@gmail.com.
